As we all know, Danny Gokey overcame the tragic loss of his wife, Sophia, to go after his dream of being the next American Idol. A recent report revealed that Sophia Gokey loved all kinds of music, and though Danny thought it was weird, she was fan of American Idol's Taylor Hicks. She said the season five winner reminded her of Danny.Since that report was released, Danny has compared himself and his music to Taylor Hicks several times and has stressed more than once Sophia's admiration for Taylor Hicks, attributing that for being the reason he decided to enter this show in the first place.
There are some differences though. One thing in particular is the fact that Hicks never felt the need to fill America in on the sob stories of his troubled life. Gokey on the other hand... well, we all know his story. Would Taylor have won if his hardships had been revealed like Danny's have? Will Danny's exposed past hurt his chances in winning this competition? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

The reason that he shared his story because he wants his wife to be with him in everything he does. through ups and downs. He seems to be a very loving guy who would want ALL his loved ones with him in every step of the way. he didn't do it to get sympathy. He shared his story because his wife meant the world to him. He seems to be such a humble guy. I hope he wins. He deserves it.
