Adam is making beautiful music with 24-year-old artist and interior designer Drake LaBry, say sources.
TV viewers and the entire entertainment world were stunned when the super-talented 27-year-old singer was recently beaten by Arkansas native Kris Allen, 23, in the Idol finals - but Adam couldn't be happier.
"He wants to settle down with Drake," a show insider told The ENQUIRER.
"Adam figures that if he had taken the top spot, it ultimately would have jeopardized his relationship with Drake."
The San Diego singing sensation was introduced to Louisiana native Drake months ago by mutual friends, divulged the source. "And they immediately fell in love. Adam was just not ready to come out publicly because he likes to keep his fans guessing about his sexual preference.
"But behind the scenes, Adam is totally open. He just never wants to fall into any stereotype because of his career."
Happily, Adam's family "have embraced Drake wholeheartedly," revealed the source. "He sat alongside Adam's parents at many of the tapings.
"Adam's absolutely crazy about Drake," the source said. "He wanted to keep their relationship as quiet as possible until the contest was over. Coming out publicly under that kind of scrutiny would have been crazy."
After Kris was voted champion, some in the gay community felt the outcome was a slap at Adam because of his apparent homosexuality.
"But Adam doesn't feel that way and neither does Drake," the source disclosed.
Drake - who studied interior design at Louisiana State University - "is just the kind of artsy guy who Adam would be attracted to," added the source. "He's not only into interior design, but he paints, as well."

Adam Lambert is disgusting. Did you see the video of him on stage (pre-idol) grabbing his crotch and fondling himself? His zipper appeared to be open or broken and he was bulging out. He doesn't deserve a career. He deserves to be in jail for indecent exposure. I don't care if he's gay or straight. That behavior is perverted and he should be ashamed of himself.

he's just gay, there's lots of gays out there. i bet 1 person every 5 is gay, but most of them don´t want to addmit it and they're with girls although they prefer boys.
i love adam lambert he's the celebrity i have ever liked, before he went on American Idol my idol was an english singer, but when i wached him singin ring of fire i knew he would make an impact on me. and he did, now i see gay people in a diferent way, not in a better or in a worse way, just different.
and if he's happy being gay why do i have to care, i don't have a chance of meeting him or talking to him, i'm just another of his fans that gone crazy after Kris won and i'm from Spain (look how far this guy has gone already) so he is quite far away from me and i can't go to tours or anything (unless he comes to Spain that i hope so)and i'm like 10 years younger than him :). so my point is that we don't have to care coz we don't have a shoot on knowing him, or in my case just to go to just a concert or something

I think adam is extremely talented and he is my favorite of all the ai seasons. I love a man who is very comfortable in his sexuality and himself. I can't wait for your album.
Adam is unique, so attractive, and extremely talented. His sexual orientation should matter not at all. Why are so many of you frightened by gay people? I happen to be straight and cannot imagine what gay people must go through in our society because of the prejudice I see in these posts. Adam, you are a great person! Good show!
