Yesterday was press day for the Idols, so I have a lot to post today :]
This may be one of the best interviews ever.. from TV Guide.. Kradam, baby!!
Access Hollywood interview with Megan Joy!! Matt and Anoop come on towards the end of the video..
(if the video doesn't work, go here)
Interview with E! Online: One tidbit that has proved true is that the theatrical rocker is performing a David Bowie medley on the upcoming Idol tour, which kicks off July 5 in Portland, Ore. "The show's set list is in order of elimination. So I'm the second to last person in lineup, and we each have our own set. I'm closing with a Bowie medley that goes from 'Life on Mars" into 'Fame' into 'Let's Dance.' It's doing major justice to the original Bowie intention behind them, but we're adding synthy, dancey electronic elements to it. I'm wearing a custom-made blue metallic silver bomber jacket with tails and spikes and studs by Skin Graft. They've hooked me up with some really sick fashion."
Adam and Kris were on "On-Air w/Ryan Seacrest" earlier today.. You can stream it here or get the podcast here!
Adam Lambert on Extra Part 1 (5/21/09):
Adam Lambert on Extra Part 2 (5/21/09):
LA Times.. Idols practicing "Don't Stop Believing":
Fox will be re-airing this season's Michael Jackson episode of American Idol on Monday night. 8 pm, be there or be square!
MTV article: The one person who definitely brought theatrics to the "Idol" stage week after week, Adam Lambert, promised the drama will be turned up when the tour starts. Lambert revealed that his outfits will include "studs, rivets and spikes."
Fox Phoenix article and video: "It's gonna be really high energy. The jacket that I'm wearing is like a show in itself you know, I'm really really into it," said Lambert.
About the chance to work with big name music acts, Lambert said, "There are opportunities left and right. Artists that I respect and honor are saying 'Hey you wanna do something together? Do you wanna collaborate? Do you want to write together? You know, we'd love to have you come and guest on this thing.' I have to pinch myself. It's nuts."
TMZ posted this document: The final track list for "On With the Show".
Adam's statement about the pre-Idol recordings: "Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded back in 2005 were being released. Since then I discovered the entire track listing, revealed online today. I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album. Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public. I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press, and I'm very disappointed by this entire situation."
and.. Hi-Fi's response: Hi Fi responded to Adam's statement this morning, saying, "As we've already outlined, releasing this music was always the plan. That plan was changed by 19 Recordings after Adam won America over with his extraordinary talent. It's a shame that his management/record company choose to disavow their client's work and discredit him as a songwriter. As an independent company whose role it is to help put this out, we at Hi Fi think this is an absolute slap in the face to Wilshire Records. That small indie music company, run by an experienced music producer, Malcolm Welsford, thrives on finding, nurturing and championing new talent, and now they find themselves at a tremendous potential loss. Adam's songwriting partner, Monte Pittman now finds himself at a tremendous potential loss. Via the press, in the words of the musician they dedicated so much time and money to, they are being told that their work with Adam should never see the light of day."
Top 10 Interview with Fox LA:
Follow the official tour Twitter! All of the Idols will be tweeting from this twitter during the tour.
The first webisode from Adam was posted over at the official site. They promise a new webisode every other week :]
Another video from tour rehearsal yesterday is here. This is a funny one.
Kris Allen and Adam Lambert talk about Michael Jackson: "His voice was just one of a kind," he said. "No one else sounds like him. Furthermore, the visual stuff he brought to the table was so groundbreaking and edgy and ahead of its time, in a way. There wasn't anyone else really going out there like that."
Rolling Stone reveals some tour plans: "Asked if he feels like he’s constantly putting out fires, Lambert tells Rock Daily, “You could say that. I’m like a fireman… and a firestarter at the same time.”"
Adam and Kris video reaction on E! News about Michael Jackson:
they were also on 20/20 and Dateline tonight.. video of those will be posted as soon as I can get them :]
I think that's everything.. If I missed something, please feel free to message me on Twitter, or leave a comment below or in the chat box on the left :] Thanks! and, as always, stay tuned for more!
