In just four weeks, 1,956 fans contributed directly to music and arts-based, classroom project requests submitted by teachers at DonorsChoose.org, providing learning resources and supplies for more than 87,775 students.
A primary component of the initiative was a competition among Lambert's online fan groups to raise the highest donation total; ONTD_AI took first place by netting $82,700, donated by hundreds of generous supporters of the group.
"I am unbelievably moved by the generosity and resolve of my fans, who have donated beyond what I could have ever expected to help students around the country," said Adam Lambert. "Although I was on tour during the length of the competition, I frequently checked in on the challenge progress and was so amazed to see the number of donors and total amount donated continue to rise and rise."

Throughout the challenge, a "Lambert Leaderboard" at www.donorschoose.org/AdamLambert tracked and displayed real-time progress of the fan group competition. They sent messages to their members, posted on their blogs, utilized social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook, and created original multimedia content to inspire donations.

There will be a *TWO MINUTE* television preview of 2012 on October 1! "Two minutes of “2012,” set for release on Nov. 13, will be shown on television on Thursday., Oct. 1, sometime between 10:50 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern Time. The footage will air on three of the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS and NBC), 89 cable channels, local stations in 70 markets and Spanish-language networks. Afterward, people can see an extended sequence on fancast.com or Comcast On Demand." WOW! Maybe we'll also get a sneak peek at "A Time For Miracles"? Probably not but..... I think we should all check this out just in case!
Good ole' Jim Cantiello over at MTV wrote up an article with some album updates! "Beats a-comin'! A dream come true! Shaking posteriors! Yay! I'm very happy that Adam's happy. I'm also relieved that despite having "'Idol' runner-up" status, he's had no trouble enlisting the hottest collaborators working right now. Claude Kelly's knob-twiddling helped Lady Gaga emerge as a radio-staple, while Dr. Luke is practically synonymous with the term "hit record," having helmed huge singles by Britney, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus and Pink. Preview: How much did America really learn about Adam Lambert on American Idol this year? Only that he's the most enigmatic, visually exciting performer in the show's run. Lambert's second-place finish did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm for his debut, which the singer has described as modernizing glam and classic '70s rock sounds with electronic and dance elements. If his set on the Idols Live tour is any indication, it'll fall somewhere between Led Zeppelin and Muse, between Tears for Fears and David Bowie.
Precursor: Details of the album remain sketchy, though his collaborators have included some of pop music's hottest producers — RedOne (Lady Gaga), Max Martin (Kelly Clarkson), Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and Greg Wells (Katy Perry).
Prejudgment: Will Lambert become the international superstar that judge Simon Cowell predicted? Or will he wind up merely being the object of an obsessively devoted cult following? Either way, his debut should be one of the most fascinating albums — and music stories — of the season.

09.15.09 Updates (I'm Back!)
Heyyy y'all! I have been pretty much deathly ill for the last few days which is why there have been no updates. I finally felt better yesterday so I went ahead and did the last few concert updates last night.. and now I'm going to try and catch up on all the Adam news!! Today is the last day of the American Idol Season 8 tour!! *sniff*... *sniff*!!! So sad..
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will be performing at this year's Ford Motor Company Day, which is this Friday.. September 18th.
Adam (I mean, American Idol) is nominated for an Emmy. The Emmy Awards are this Sunday.. (I'll be watching football.. but I mean.. whatever)

Adam (I mean, American Idol) is nominated for an Emmy. The Emmy Awards are this Sunday.. (I'll be watching football.. but I mean.. whatever)

Here's an encouraging article about Adam Lambert's high school years from OK Magazine:
Long before American Idol came into Adam Lambert’s life, he was passionate about the choir, drama and photography classes he attended at Mount Carmel High School in San Diego.
“Not only was it a great chance for me to explore my great artistic, creative passions, but it also provided a wonderful social outlet for me,” he tells me. “I think those programs are really important for kids like me. Not everybody’s going to play football after school.”
These days, the Idol runner-up, 28 [ETA: 27, actually], is channeling his fame for good by asking fans to support public school classroom projects focused on arts, music and drama through www.donorschoose.org/adamlambert.
“I have fans who are kind enough to spend money for me for gifts, and I started receiving gifts, and I was very flattered by that, but then I started thinking ‘you know what? I don’t need this stuff. I’m at a lucky place in my life where I’m fortunate enough to make a good living,’” he says. “I feel like this financial energy could be redirected for a better cause. I felt guilty for people spending money on me, and would rather these kids and these public schools benefit from it.”
He continues, “I don’t understand why arts are the first thing to go when they put so much money into things like sports. [laughs] It’s unfair. It’s an unbalanced situation. When I was in public school, luckily the budget was decent in the district that I was in. I had a great experience. I hear stories about kids in schools and teachers who aren’t able to give the kids that type of experience. I do think it’s important.”
The openly gay glam rocker tells me he wasn’t “out” during his high school years.
“I had a good time during high school,” he tells me. “I didn’t really have a strong identity. I didn’t date or anything. It wasn’t a time of romance or sexuality at all for me. That was not even existent in my high school experience. But I had a lot of friends, and I had a lot of fun.”
What advice does he have for kids as they return to school?
“Find a balance between what you have to do academically and what makes you happy,” he says. “That’s one of the reasons why I find it important to contribute money to these arts programs because it also keeps kids wanting to go to school in many cases. After your math and science class, history class, you might feel a little burnt out, and then you get to look forward to drama. Or choir. And it really keeps you charged and wanting to be there – wanting to be on campus and wanting to succeed. My message to kids is to find a balance between what you have to do in school, and what feeds your creative self.”

Just got back from seeing Adam in Indiana. After seeing him in Ohio from an upper section - I just had to go one more time and sit as close as possible. After finding row 2 seats from StudHub; I then began my search for the perfect whip. I located one made of blue suede with black trim to match his outfit. Everyone around me got to see the whip and play with it. Our prayers were answered when he made a sexy sound and then picked it up to dance with. We were all jumping and dancing around - so excited! It was the highlight of my evening - a memory I will always cherish.
