10.26.09 Updates

Hi-Fi are now trying to release the album Adam recorded with them before American Idol under the name of "Take One". Do *not* buy this! Here's a quote from Adam regarding the situation: "Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded back in 2005 were being released. Since then I discovered the entire track listing, revealed online today. I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album. Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public. I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press, and I'm very disappointed by this entire situation."

Adam in the latest issue of InStyle magazine: "Among his necessary objects: MAC eyeliner and OPI nail polish. "Often I paint my own nails, but on tour there's a manicurist on site," he told us. "She does a much better job!""

Yahoo's Lyndsey Parker was lucky enough to have this happen to her. (Basically she got to preview THREE of the songs from "For Your Entertainment". Which was revealed a few days ago as the title of Adam's debut album..) Here's what she had to say about the three tracks:

• "Entertainment" - The default title track and statement of intent, masterminded by Dr. Luke (Katy Perry) and Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson), Adam opens this one up, Rocky Horror-meets-Robbie Williams-style, with the audacious declaration: "I'm here for your entertainment!" And he ain't kidding. This is an ultra-caffeinated party-starter (imagine if Mika, Sam Sparro, and Kevin Rudolf had a threesome that resulted in the conception of a glittery alien baby...if you dare), and it's just begging to be remixed by everyone from Calvin Harris to the Neptunes to Justice--even though it sounds like a shiz-hawt remix already, as is.


• "Winners" - A slinky, sexy, salacious dance-rock grinder with a keening, near-orgasmic vocal reminiscent of Adam's watershed "Ring Of Fire" performance, this Rob Cavallo-produced cut cracks open in the middle like a giant whitechocolatespaceegg to reveal a colossal, fist-pumping, Gary-Glittery chantalong chorus that seems lifted straight out of "We Will Rock You 2: Electric Boogaloo." • "Music Again" - Okay, this is the song, also produced by Rob Cavallo, largely responsible for my current lack of coherence or composure. The minute this glammy tour de force forced its way out of the 19 Entertainment office's speakers, it was so white-hot I was instantly reduced to a puddle of melted spandex and runny eyeliner. A falsetto gang chorus like something off a lost Sweet outtakes album, squalling guitar riffs, pumping "Funkytown" beats...my head was pretty much exploding at this point, but I managed to hold my cranium together long enough to turn to a nearby 19 employee and jokingly state, "This sounds like the Darkness, if the Darkness were remixed." To which the employee answered, "That's funny you say that, because this song was actually written by [legendarily unitarded Darkness frontman] Justin Hawkins, and that's Justin on guitar."

The video for "Time For Miracles" will officially be released on October 18th: "Lambert is especially happy about where fans will be able to see the "Time for Miracles" video: the big screen. "The '2012' trailer that we put together with the ['Time for Miracles' music video] will be premiering at the Michael Jackson film," Lambert revealed to MTV News, referring to a special trailer that will run before the upcoming documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It.""

A big announcement is coming today! Adam will be calling into "On-Air w/Ryan Seacrest" at some point to reveal some news :D You can listen to it live here at 11:30 AM (Eastern)! Make sure you listen!!!

Jim Cantiello's reaction to "Time For Miracles": "But what I am comfortable with saying at this point is that Adam Lambert's voice sounds nothing short of amazing, mind-blowing, brizzonculent. (I had to make up a word there, because I'm fairly certain there's no string of letters that could properly convey how awesome he sounds.) Has Adam Lambert's success this past season had any effect on your life whatsoever?

Yes and no. It's the American Idol family, so he got compared to me, as being rebellious and flamboyant. I got that. I guess I'm known as the rebellious American Idol. And he kind of did his own thing.

He's a great dude. I helped him with a couple of beats for his record and tried to hook him up with certain people for his album. I saw him at one of their shows, at an American Idols Live concert in New Jersey. He just tore the roof off. He and Matt Giraud were my favorites from this season, and Allison, as well.

This was the first season that I actually watched, ever. It was cool, because there were two or three people I really enjoyed.

A Funny Story

I was at work today.. (I work in retail) and I had a customer who came in wearing a red t-shirt. It was from a high school production of some play. (I can't remember which play). The shirt was from 1995.. San Diego, CA..... (I live in Virginia, so.) MT. CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL.

Naturally, I freaked out, said, "OMG, YOUR SHIRT! Adam Lambert went there!" and she replied with, "Yeahh, my brother was a senior when he was a freshman. They sang in choir together."

I was too excited to speak after that. I'm not even sure that's exactly how the conversation went, I may have mixed stuff up. Oh well. All that matters is I met someone whose brother went to school with Adam Lambert so, indirectly, I met Adam Lambert today. That is all :] Too bad I was too busy flailing to ask her any more questions or give her my website or ask for her name! Grrr...

10.01.09 Updates (Evening Edition)

I think I just stepped (barefoot) in dog crap.

There are rumors flying around about the scene from 2012 that will be shown on most television channels tonight between 10:50 and 11.. some are saying that "Time For Miracles" (Adam Lambert's song from the soundtrack) WILL be played and some are saying that it will NOT be played. I honestly can't see why it WOULD be.. but I know we will all be watching just in case.
also, @SadaoTurner Tweeted: "Tonight's "2012" media roadblock will feature @AdamLambert's song "Time For Miracles" which will appear on the soundtrack." (He is one of Ryan Seacrest's producers. So maybe he knows what he's talking about.)

Ryan: Yeah, you should look out for Adam Lambert. I've done, as of now, and it could change, but as of now, four songs for his album. I've never watched American Idol until this year. Ironically, I've worked with enough of them you think I would have, but I never had. But this year I saw that guy and thought, "Man this guy's out of his mind, it's amazing." Finally something different. This guy doesn't care. I love it, and so I did four songs with him. I'm not going to say what the single is. I'm actually trying to find out what the first single is right now. I'll just say I've got these two now that are in contention. I would love, of course, to have the single.
